The Beijerinck Center opened its doors as of 6.30 pm and location director Fedde Sonnema started the program around 7 pm. The visitors were informed about our current activities and future plans. To name a few, the current activities on the former Calve site and the future merger of DSM with the Swiss company Firmenich were discussed.
Then it was our bakery's turn, global application manager Helma Stolze-Lagerweij told us all about the use of enzymes in their products. Planet B.io director Cindy Gerhard shared the latest news about Planet B.io, our open innovation campus in biotech, such as securing a huge Growth Fund grant. Following the presentations, the guests could ask questions, taste blue algae drinks from Planet B.io resident FUL Foods, and touch bread from our bakery with and without enzymes. Afterwards it was time for a tour around the campus. After the tour there was an opportunity to during the drink, which lasted until 22.00.
Both the visitors and the organization experienced this evening as very positive. We can therefore look back on a very successful edition and hope to welcome everyone again next year!
